Questions

Why does Excel use semicolons?

In countries where the decimal separator is a comma (most of Europe, Latin America), Excel saves "CSV" files with semicolons. Many platforms, including Shopify, expect commas.

Will my numbers or codes change?

No. The file is rewritten as text: leading zeros (000123), long barcodes and decimal commas inside values are kept exactly. Only the quoting follows the new delimiter.

Why are my accents broken?

Reads UTF-8 with or without a BOM and UTF-16 LE/BE with a BOM. Windows-1252 is a fallback for some non-UTF-8 files; detection is not universal. Check the preview and re-export other code pages as UTF-8. Already lost or incorrectly saved characters are not restored.

Is my file sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser.
